Hi, I'm Patti

I'M A FUNCTIONAL DIAGNOSTIC NUTRITION PRACTITIONER (FDN-P)

Chances are, I’ve walked in shoes similar to yours.

For as long as I can remember, I suffered from gut issues—except,

I didn’t realize they were issues at the time! To me, it was just normal. I thought everyone had to unbutton their pants after a meal. I thought it was normal to struggle with bloating, discomfort, and trapped smelly gas.

.

My periods were always fairly regular—occasional they were heavy and painful, but manageable. That changed in my mid-40s. I had entered perimenopause. I had no idea that this stage of life was going to be so tumultuous! My periods became horrifically heavy, the pain unbearable, and the clotting extreme. It incapacitated me for an entire week every month. At the time, I was a busy Realtor and certainly didn't have time to be handicapped this way every month. It was not only embarrassing, but completely inconvenient.

.

Eventually, I felt like my only choice was a hysterectomy (they left my ovaries, THANKFULLY!), and when my doctor removed my uterus, she discovered it weighed six pounds due to fibroid tumors!

If only I knew then what I know now—my hormones were erratic and out of balance which often happens during perimenopause. This led to my symptoms and no one ever told me how to feel better. We have learned a lot in recent years and now we know about eating to support our hormone health.

And the gut issues? They didn’t stop there. I was eventually diagnosed with Diverticulosis, and I knew I had to make a change.

I had always been highly energetic—an athlete who ran three marathons and backpacked the Grand Canyon several times.

I wasn’t about to roll over and accept a life of discomfort, exhaustion, and feeling off and just resign myself that this is what getting older was going to be like. I better suck it up and accept it.

In my mid-30s, I started noticing how some of the people I knew and loved were not aging well—and I made a decision right then:

👉 I would age intentionally with purpose. But here I was and everything “traditional” was failing me. At the end of my rope, I was blessed to meet and work with a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner—and it changed everything!

✅ My gut health improved—no more bloating!

✅ Inflammation subsided and twenty pounds melted away!

✅ My hormones balanced, my energy came back, and I finally felt like me again!

I was so inspired that I became a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P) myself—so I could help others take back their health and restore vitality just like I did.

As part of my certification, I ran cutting-edge functional lab tests
on myself (not tests that my doctor had run) and saw that I had a lot of healing opportunity that were revealed to me. I saw issues with my digestion that I could address. I saw what was out of balance with my hormones. I followed the patented D.R.E.S.S.® protocol to restore my metabolism, gut health, and energy

—and I now in my 60's, I feel better than I ever have! I want that for you, too. If you're tired of guessing, struggling, and feeling like your body is working against you, let's find the missing pieces of your health puzzle and create a real path forward.

Changes in Vitality

Vitality may change as we age, It is important to look at lifestyle choices, and overall health, and being knowledgeable regarding these changes is key to embracing each life stage and nurturing our well-being.

Our gut health is a vital piece of the puzzle, often dubbed our "second brain." It influences everything from our immune system to our mood and hormones. As we age, maintaining a healthy gut becomes increasingly crucial, impacting our energy levels, cognitive function, and body resilience against ailments.

Our diet is central to keeping our gut happy and our energy levels up. Loading our plates with colorful, nutrient-rich foods like fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins not only nourishes us, but also supports digestive health and overall vitality. Conversely, skimping on variety and essential nutrients might leave us feeling less vibrant as the years go by.

Recognizing the connection between vitality, gut health, and diet empowers us to make informed choices. By adopting mindful eating habits, supplementing when necessary, and adjusting our lifestyles, we can cultivate a thriving gut environment and embrace the aging journey with vitality and grace.
